The Landscape Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of landscape construction projects. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, keen attention to detail, and a deep understanding of landscape construction practices. This role is critical to ensuring our projects are both financially viable and meet the high standards our clients expect.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for landscape construction projects, including materials, labour, and equipment.
- Analyse project plans, specifications, and site conditions to develop accurate estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, designers, and suppliers to gather necessary information for estimates.
- Obtain and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing.
- Identify potential risks and provide recommendations for cost-effective solutions.
- Assist in the preparation of tender submissions and proposals.
- Monitor project costs and compare them with original estimates, adjusting as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, costs, and project documentation.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, material costs, and best practices in landscape construction.
- Proven experience as a Landscape Estimator or in a similar estimating role within the construction or landscaping industry.
- Strong knowledge of landscape construction processes, materials, and techniques.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
- Ability to read and interpret landscape plans, blueprints, and specifications.
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in estimating.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- A degree or diploma in landscape construction, horticulture, quantity surveying, or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with Brisbane’s local market and suppliers is a plus.
