Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Block Layer with a strong background in masonry work, particularly in laying concrete blocks, bricks, and stone. The ideal candidate will have a sharp eye for detail, a solid work ethic, and a commitment to delivering top-notch results. This role involves working on a variety of landscape construction projects, where your expertise in block laying will play a crucial role.

Key Responsibilities

- Lay concrete blocks, bricks, and stone for retaining walls, garden beds, and other landscape features.

- Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to ensure precision in your work.

- Mix mortar and ensure the correct consistency for block and brick laying.

- Align and plumb structures during the construction process.

- Cut blocks to fit specific designs, including corners, curves, and other custom features.

- Ensure all work meets safety standards and complies with building codes.

- Maintain a clean and organised worksite, efficiently managing materials.

- Collaborate with other team members to complete projects on time and to specification.

Qualifications and Experience

- Proven experience as a Block Layer, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.

- In-depth knowledge of masonry techniques, tools, and materials.

- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints.

- Experience with a variety of blocks, bricks, and stone types.

- Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices.

- Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.

- White Card (Construction Induction) is essential.

- Trade qualifications in bricklaying or masonry (preferred but not mandatory).
